New Skool Orchestra

Have You Heard?

The wait is finally over!

After waiting what felt like an eternity for the much anticipated debut album, New Skool Sextet has finally blessed us with the release of The Birth of Change. The album, which took about two months to record and master, was first announced to audiences on September 2, 2014. It’s only been two months since then, and yet the wait has really seemed like a long one; nonetheless it’s been worth it. The album tracks were recorded on the 15th and 16th of September and with a full-length 15 track offering, that almost seems too good to be true. In classic New Skool fashion the tunes are a range of jazz, classical and African sounds which any and everyone is guaranteed to bop their heads to.

The boys, who recorded all-original material that they’ve been performing all across the country and Europe, also lent a hand in producing the double-disk offering and arranged many of the tunes we’ve loved to hear them perform such as:
‘Bop On the Move’
‘Oom Rudolfo’
‘Mbira’
‘Flowers and Rainbows’ and the title track
‘The Birth of Change’
